DoorDash (DASH) and Kroger (KR) are deepening their collaboration, granting customers full access to Kroger's grocery inventory via the DoorDash app starting October 1. The partnership leverages Kroger's delivery network to expand on-demand grocery reach, a strategic MOVE DoorDash's COO Prabir Adarkar hailed as enhancing convenience and choice for shoppers.
The deal intensifies pressure on Instacart (CART), which counted Kroger as its third-largest client. Instacart already contends with Amazon (AMZN) and Walmart (WMT) in the rapidly evolving grocery delivery space. The alliance positions DoorDash more aggressively in a sector where speed and flexibility are becoming table stakes.
